Brazil leads FPSO deployments globally and in South America

OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY — The latest report from Global Data, ‘Quarterly Global FPSO Industry Outlook – Brazil Leads FPSO Deployments in South America’, suggests that 74 planned and planned FPSOs are expected to start their operations by 2025. Globally, South America leads with 33 planned and announced FPSO additions by 2025, followed by Africa and Europe with 17 and seven FPSOs, respectively.

Globally, among operators, Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. leads with 23 planned and announced FPSOs, followed by Saipem S.p.A, Statoil ASA, Premier Oil Plc and Modec Inc with three FPSOs each in outlook period.

GlobalData’s research shows that in the African region, most of the planned and announced FPSOs are expected to start their operations in Angola and Nigeria. In Europe, the UK and Norway, will have seven planned and announced FPSOs expected to come online in the next four years. Malaysia, China, Indonesia and India are the leading countries in Asia, with most of the planned FPSOs.

Israel in the Middle East region would have one planned FPSO. In North America, Mexico would have one announced and one planned FPSO, the US and Canada have one announced FPSO each.

Among countries globally, Brazil continues to lead with 27 planned and announced FPSO additions by 2025. Angola has six planned and announced FPSO additions followed by Nigeria with five. Both Australia and Norway have four planned FPSOs each.
