Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) revenues increased 40.4% thanks to higher crude sales in the United States compared to the first quarter of 2016, the United States Department of Commerce said.
The state's production company exported 65.8 million barrels of oil between January and April of this year, equivalent to 2.953 billion dollars, compared to 2.103 billion dollars obtained last year, which means A growth of 40.4% from one year to the next.
According to the Commerce Department, Mexico remains the fourth oil exporter to the United States, being surpassed by Canada, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela.
The higher income from the sale of oil to the United States translates into a 4.7% increase in the bilateral trade balance during the first quarter of the year.
